Do you want do develop yourself, helping others, find yourself in a challenging environment you
learn from and have fun in a new and popular country in Africa? You can assist to protect the people with intellectual disabilities from stigmatization, abuse, and exploitation, and work towards a society in which every person with intellectual disabilities have a better quality of life.

ABOUT OUR PARTNER

Inclusion Ghana (IG) is a non‐profit, non‐government association representing the voices of all
Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWIDs) and their families. Established 8 years ago, IG has
positioned itself as a community change agent in Ghana, with a strong focus on advocacy and service for persons with intellectual disabilities, both locally and nationally.


Inclusion Ghana works with non-governmental and community based organisations to offer services to persons with intellectual disability and their families and advocate for their rights and needs.


Currently, it partners twenty-six (26) affiliate member organisations across the nation and has
formed over one hundred and sixty eight (168) Parents Self Help Groups made up of about 2,300
parents of children with intellectual disabilities nationwide.

PARTNER INFORMATION

WORK ASSIGNMENTS FOCUS



Direct work with people with intellectual disabilities, website update, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube video uploads, write blogs and ad hoc. Interview people and develop Most Significant Change (MSC) stories.


Organisational Activities: Workshop(s) planning, coordination, external communication, fundraising,
documentation, monitoring and evaluation.


Social Media (SoMe) and Communication: For inclusion Ghana, it is important to tell the whole world what we continuously do. Hence, there is a need for strong research, communication and media people.


Additional benefits: A very strong teamwork culture and a lot of travels is involved in our field work.


FUN FACTS


  • Accra (capital) is located at the coast. There are very nice beaches and castles (including the
    castle built by the Danes). Ghana and Denmark has a long standing history and there is a lot
    to find out about the history.


  • Enjoy the different waterfalls and mountains of Ghana, Kakum National Park, Mole National
    Park, and museums.


  • The weekends starting on Friday evening are always exciting!
